Veronika with atopic eczema
We would like to share the story of Mrs. Veronika, who has suffered from atopic eczema since childhood. After consulting with her dermatologist, MUDr. Jana Povalová, she incorporated sulfur-based cosmetics and thermal sulfur water spray into her skincare routine.
Veronika is 30 years old and has been suffering from atopic eczema since early childhood. Her skin condition worsens repeatedly in typical areas such as the folds of her limbs, as well as other parts of her body. Veronika also suffers from seasonal allergies.
Her dermatologist prescribed a short treatment with mild corticosteroids for 3 days, which she applied to the affected areas and gradually stopped using. During this time, she also started using sulfur-based emollients to care for her skin. She began with the sulphur cream THERMELOVE, applying it twice a day, and during the summer, she used a lighter version of the THERMELOVE moisturizing body lotion combined with thermal water. The eczema patches on her body faded and became well-hydrated. For the last month, without using topical corticosteroids, the localized skin condition has healed. Veronika now only uses emollients containing sulfur.
Dr. Povalová adds: "Regular application of emollients supports the complete healing of itchy eczema patches and helps keep them in a stable condition. Atopic eczema is one of the most common skin issues, affecting 10 to 20% of the population in developed countries. It is a chronic or chronically recurring non-infectious condition. The foundation of treatment, and also prevention, is daily skin care with suitable emollients to moisturize and the removal of provoking and aggravating factors from the patient's environment. Hydration of the skin at least twice a day is essential, and products containing sulphur and thermal sulfur water also support skin care."
